Eva Recio - Director

Hi! I'm Eva Recio, founder and director of NomadMinds  Travel, my capstone project of  the MA in Educational Entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia) in 2017. I  previously earned  a Bachelors in Geography and History, and a MA in Art History from the University of Salamanca (Spain) , as well as a M Ed in Spanish Teaching from Saint Joseph’s University (Philadelphia). 

I've dedicated over two decades as Spanish language and culture faculty member, specializing in Spanish curriculum development and focusing on language and intercultural competence development. My expertise includes facilitating immersion experiences and guiding study abroad programs.


Today, NomadMinds Travel stands as an educational tool for  fostering cross-cultural understanding,  enhancing global perspectives through intercultural competence development, and committed to the support of local communities.

Esther Recio, Spain coordinator of NomadMinds

Esther Recio - Spain Coordinator

 Hello! I'm Esther Recio, overseeing the program coordination in Spain for NomadMinds Travel. I graduated in Education from the University of Salamanca, pursued a Bachelor's in English Literature, and completed a MEd in Education  at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. Additionally, I earned a MA in Spanish and Latin-American Literatures, and currently in the Doctoral Program final semester  at Temple University


With over 20 years of teaching experience, I've specialized in designing Spanish curricula and have organized cultural  study  programs in Cuba, Argentina, Uruguay,  Spain and Morocco. Teaching and curriculum design have been at the core of my career, and I'm thrilled to share my expertise to provide enriching and authentic experiences through NomadMinds. I look forward to making each program an unforgettable educational adventure!

Abel Fernandez - Cuba Coordinator


Hola everyone! I'm Abel Fernandez, from Havana. My experience with cultural immersion and experiential learning began with a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Havana and continued  through my roles at Fragua Martiana in Havana and my expertise in planning and guiding tours. Besides Spanish, I speak English and Italian.
As a local coordinator with NomadMinds, my role lies in crafting authentic immersion itineraries  to uncover the essence of current Cuba. My goal is to provide a local  understanding of our culture, and celebrate the mosaic of local Cuban cultures.
